"Laurel School has a rich legacy of empowering girls to claim their voices and a long tradition of excellence in the arts," said headmistress Ann V. Klotz in a release announcing the program.

"A few years ago we began our 'Music with a Mission' initiative to bring more arts education and programming to our students and to the community,'' Klotz said. "LaureLive builds on those efforts. This mission-driven festival allows us to proclaim our commitment to the arts, give our students real-world experience via hands-on learning and internships and share our exceptional Butler Campus with a wider audience.''

Marc Roberge, lead vocalist for O.A.R., noted his band's Ohio connection in a prepared statement.

"As guys who went to Ohio State and have a huge connection to Cleveland, we are excited to be headlining Day 1 of Cleveland's very first contemporary music festival," said Roberge in the statement. "LaureLive has done a great job assembling a killer lineup and we are looking forward to visiting the campus and playing for our friends, fans and family."
